Listen to last night's show

Here's a little experiment to see if anyone will actually listen to last night's disaster.. I mean, last night's show, parts of which were so incoherent it's no wonder we received a call from a dude who didn't even ask if we were high.. he just said, "You guys are so high." And so we retaliated by playing Bongzilla's "666 Lb Bong Session."

Yeah so anyway, since this show was such a beautiful mess, I'll be adding some basic commentary...

PART ONE: After hearing some Neu!, the show gets immediately started with a bang... Dave had the mics up way too loud which shocked Mike's ears. Around 5:00, we refer to last week's show in which Mike had to insert earplugs during a song by Halflings, a band we tried to see at Record Store Day who turned out weren't actually playing. At 6:55, Tom & Brian start talking about the posters on the walls of the on-air studio, a topic of conversation that normally translates very well to radio listeners. Just kidding. Also Dinosaur Jr and a kickass Boris track.

PART TWO: Starts with 2 tracks from The Minutemen, both amazing. At 6:30 in the audio clip, we refer to WXCI's old slogan "Get Some," which no one says anymore. At 8:30, for whatever reason we start talking about old MTV commercials from the 90's. I'm not sure what's happening for the next 2 minutes after that. This leads into music from Peter Goodzien (sp) and Heaven People.

PART THREE: Richard Youngs starts out this set. During the song, we received a phonecall from someone who said "you guys are so high," or something along those lines.. So we dedicated Bongzilla to that gentleman. We talk about how our liner index card (a thing we wrote for people to read over the air to help promote our show) has either been stolen, or thrown in the garbage, or misplaced, and we're planning on writing a new one soon that's even more obnoxious. Also music from Outlaw Order.

PART FOUR: Music from Paintbox, a Silver Apples cover by Scaredycat, a classic from Husker Du, and some local blackmetal sludge from Havohej (which is "Jehovah" spelled backwards.. I think they were from Brookfield, CT and no longer are a band). At this point, we enter one of the only remotely coherent talking bits of this evening's show, which is good because I don't feel like writing about it. Tom does some impromptu comedy bits.

PART FIVE: Music from Aderlating and Wolf Eyes; Interpretive reading from the back of a "Spooky Sounds" CD; Commentary over our pick for this week's "Exceptionally Awesome Song Of The Week" (Andrew WK's remix of 3Oh!3's "House Party"); At the 12:30 mark we talk more about how we didn't see Halflings the night before; Also local experimental noise from Arabian Blade.
